Talk: Restoring our railways, the Ivanhoe Line
February 14 @ 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm
Talk: Restoring our railways, with Bruce Wakley from the Campaign to Reopen the Ivanhoe Line (CRIL).
The Ivanhoe Line runs from Burton to Leicester and was closed to passenger services in 1964. CRIL started in 2018 and is one of the ten winners in the first round of schemes competing to win government backing as part of the Restore Your Railway initiative, launched by the government in March 2020. This talk details what has happened since the line was closed to passengers, the efforts to get it reopened to passengers and where we are today – an evolving story.
